Samsung Galaxy S24 FE has appeared in more leaks than we could imagine. It just goes to show how anxious people are for its arrival. Fingers crossed, we shall see this device take the stage in October. But before all that, it has marched onto Geekbench’s site for testing.
Previous rumors about its SoC seem to be legit. There is an Exynos 2400e chip inside it with underclocked cores. The title for this chip is only a placeholder, and Samsung hasn’t confirmed it yet. But the fact remains. It is a less-powerful version of Exynos 2400.
3.11GHz is the clock frequency for this chipset version, instead of 3.2GHz from the original. But that’s likely the sole disparity those two chips have. Save for the primary Cortex X4. Those other nine cores are identical to the tee. It shouldn’t have that big an impact on the phone’s performance.
Samsung might have done this to save the S24 FE from overheating if rumors are anything to go by. Samsung's new 5G model is a cheap alternative to their flagships, so it won’t be as efficient at cooling the chassis. An underclocked flagship chip is a perfect solution.
